Zion Lutheran Church has been serving the Dashwood, Ontario community for over 147 years. Established in 1873, our church traces its roots back to European settlers who formed St. Peter's German Evangelical Lutheran and Reformed Church in Zurich in the mid-1800s.
In 2023, we celebrated our 150th anniversary, marking a century and a half of proclaiming the Gospel and serving our community. Our current building, designed to accommodate up to 250 people, was moved into in 1981 following a fire in 1979. The church bell, which survived the fire, was re-housed in a new tower in 1982 and continues to call our congregation to worship.
Zion Lutheran Church operates as an organized church for the purpose of spreading the Gospel among people. As a proud member of Lutheran Church – Canada (LC-C), we are committed to proclaiming the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ and nurturing faith through Word and Sacraments.
